New Attractions at Walt Disney World® Resort "I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing ---- that it was all started by a mouse." ---- Walt Disney The Walt Disney World ® Resort is always adding attractions .. to keep the "magic" coming !!! Read on for more details on two of the BIGGEST new attractions ever at the Walt Disney World ® Resort The Thrills of Space Travel are now EPCOT Realities Preview Opening of Mission: SPACE set for August 15, 2003 The rocket is clear for liftoff; ignition systems start. Blue Florida skies give way to a star-spattered blackness. The mission is underway, and you’re inside the capsule, experiencing it firsthand. The realism is out-of-this-world at the exciting new EpcotÒ attraction Mission: SPACE, opening later this year. As a Mission: SPACE astronaut-in-training you’ll arrive at the "International Space Training Center" and join a crew of three. Each member will be assigned a unique task to carryout in the capsule. This is not a passive attraction, but rather one in which your response has a definite cause and effect on your experience. Attractions within the Attraction Immediately following the rocket voyage is the Advanced Training Lab. It combines four areas: Mission: SPACE Race, a competition to return a crew to Earth; Expedition Mars, which lets you guide jet-packing astronauts around the surface of Mars; Space Base, a multi-story play area for astro-tots; and Postcards from Space, a personalized video e-mail station. Behind every aspect of this thrilling new attraction, a strong sense of human achievement inspired by the numerous space programs is communicated and commemorated. Don’t miss this thrilling new addition to the Walt Disney World ® Resort !! Expedition EVEREST As Disney’s Animal Kingdom celebrated its fifth anniversary this past April, plans were announced for Expedition EVEREST, a mammoth new E-ticket thrill attraction slated to open at the Walt Disney World ® Resort in 2006. Set to rise on the eastern range of the 500-acre park, Expedition EVEREST will be a high-speed train adventure among the glaciers, canyons and caverns of the snowy Himalayas. The old mountain railway will follow a perilous course and – in a first for the Walt Disney World ® Resort – send riders both forward and backward to an eventual encounter with the yeti, the feared creature guarding the route to Mount Everest. At nearly 200 feet, Expedition EVEREST will be the tallest mountain in Florida and rise in the Asia section of the park. When it opens in 2006, you will be able to conquer the thrills and spills of Expedition EVEREST as it climbs and careens among the mountain slopes.
A New Value Resort to Open in 2003 Disney’s Pop Century Resort, which will add 2,880 value-priced rooms to the Walt Disney World ® Resort, will open on December 14, 2003. Reservations are now being accepted for this new resort, which celebrates the toys, fads, fashions, crazes and phrases of the 20th century. Larger than life pop icons such as a Big Wheel, Rubik’s Cube, Duncan Yo-Yo and Play-Doh anchor the first phase of Disney’s Pop Century Resort Pools shaped like a flower and a bowling pin evoke way-back-when memories, and features include a food court, lounge and arcade. Rates start at $77 per night , plus tax !!!!
Other Key Dates Announced !! There is always a lot going on at the Walt Disney World ® Resort. No matter what time of year you choose to go, there will be magical things to see and do. Here are some special events already scheduled for this year!! The EpcotÒ International Flower and Garden Festival – now through June 8, 2003 Star Wars Weekends – every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from May 16, 2003 – June 15, 2003. This tribute to the Star Wars saga allows guests to meet the always-popular characters. Young Jedi’s can experience the Jedi Training Academy. Also, there will be a new load of Star Wars trivia questions for the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire - Play It! Attraction. Magic Kingdom’s Nights of Joy – Experience the latest gospel music artists on September 5 & 6, 2003. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party -October 3, 5, 10, 14, 16, 19, 24, 26, 30 & 31, 2003 -- This year, the Magic Kingdom Park extends its family-friendly fright-fest to a total of ten evenings. The party lasts from 7 p.m. to midnight and features"Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Parade" down Main Street, U.S.AMickey's Very Merry Christmas Party – November 30, December 2, 4, 5, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19,2003 Our absolute favorite event at the Walt Disney World ® Resort. featuring favorites such as "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade. Guests also can sip hot cocoa and eat Christmas cookies as they watch the snow fall on Main Street, U.S.A.!! This event is always a sell out, and a favorite of the locals, so please get your tickets early!

There are a wide variety of ticket options to consider when visiting WDW. Depending on your length of stay and your future visits planned for the Walt Disney World® Resort, your best value may be different. In almost all cases however, a multi-day pass (Park Hopper) is your best bet. They come in 4 or 5-day passes and any unused days never expire, so you can use them on your next visit! Plan on visiting the spectacular Water Parks of the Walt Disney World® Resort? Then a Park Hopper PLUS Pass is your best value. They are available for 5, 6, or 7 days. The five day Park Hopper PLUS pass includes two additional days at the water parks or Pleasure Island. The 6-day has 3 extra admissions and the 7-days comes with 4 added days!!! If your stay is a long one and you plan on visiting the Disney Theme Parks for 7 or more days, or if you plan on returning within a year’s time, then the Annual Pass is definitely a superior value. The Annual Pass allows unlimited admission to the four Disney Theme Parks for 365 days !! Premium Annual Passes are also available that include unlimited water park admissions for a full year too!! If you book an on-site vacation package, you can get the Ultimate Park Hopper – admission to four theme parks, three water parks and more from the moment you check in until the end of the day you check out !!. A great convenience – and at a savings as compared to traditional park tickets..
